We all identify this word very well. Such a famous word. Definition beyond limits. Everyday we’re dealing with it. Shuffling through the hundreds of options that we have to make per day is undeniably stressful to some. Ironing that shirt in a hurry to so that you could leave the house a.s.a.p , as to avoid the traffic jam, just to find out that you’re going to be stuck in a 5 mile stretch of vehicles, who’s drivers, just like yourself, is in a hurry to get to work. It pisses you off after listening to the radio that there are several road blocks by the police,causing the massive crawlback.. Road blocks in the morning ? on work days ? Not a good idea at all. But for some reasons, e.g. national safety, they have to their job..
Sometimes we’re so stressed we can’t really figure out what exactly we’re stressed about. This type of strss is dangerous.. coz it comes and go discretely, without you yourself knowing it. Your girlfriend wants to buy a popcorn before watching the latest flick at a nearby cinema, and you told your girlfriend to call the idea off as it will be a waste of time. You end up argueing with her that you wanted to go the movies , and to forget other stresses and problems. You didn’t want anything to bother you. Your girlfriend gets pissed and she storms off.Unhappy. The cycle keeps on going.. So who is stressing who ? Girlfriend just want to buy a box of popcorn,just like everyone else , so that she could eat it and enjoy the movie. And here comes the ‘so stressful’ boyfriend wo cares nothing but to go the movie theater and enjoy the movie. He ends up stressing himself AND his girlfriend just because he didn’t want the girlfriend to queue up. Relationship at stakes, but both,still firm with their stands and thoughts.. Pity…
We all face these kinda minor incidents, which eventually roll up to a big pile/BALL of stress.. and it will take time to clear it off. 1 by 1. Wait a sec.. what’s that big bin doing at the corner of the room. Go grab it, and push everything into the bin. 5 minutes later, everything gets cleared off and you sighed out of relief.
When you think that you’re facing too much, and that you can’t handle it, what would you do ? Try the idea above, shove everything into that bin. Then head on outside, to see the sunshine and breathe some air. You deserve it. Before, I used to do that a lot.. well, frankly, I do this even now.. When there’s so much stuck in your head, just clear it off. Do SOMETHING ELSE. If you’re involved in an argument, put up your hands, and mention to your arguer, that this is not the best time to talk. Let’s discuss this over after we’ve cooled down. You should know better, the cost on relationships and ties when you keep on going in argument, when you should have just kept that lips of your shut.
Other people have even bigger problems in their lives, to that extend they don’t mind argueing everyday, even for the smallest of reasons. High threshold they may call it. But whats the point of having it high, when you’re no where near that ideal satisfaction and happiness that you always dreamt of. What about our friends with lower threshold ? Will you keep on bullying them despite the fact that you know that they are merely as weak as you ? Love and care those around you, and expect it to return to you. Make other people’s life miserable, expect your life 10 times more miserable ! What goes around comes around. Make the fullest (and happiest) out of this short life.
I am on my continuous quest for happiness. Win some , lose some. That’s my definition of Happiness. You can’t afford to be happy all your life(or can you?) nor could you be sad forever. Either way, appreciate the life that has been granted to you. Have mercy,love and care for those around you. God Bless.
